Sedgefield Youth Club: Autumn Update

Where to start… Our Summer holidays were so much fun.

The trips proved as popular as ever, with one to Billingham Forum for ice-skating and the other to Hollywood Bowl – two of our favourites! The sessions became increasingly busy as we welcomed lots of new yr3 members to our juniors and moved our new yr6’s to the seniors. Our fundraising coffee morning was an enormous success with a complete sell-out of our baked goods raising over £400. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us and special thanks to the ladies at Sedgefield WI for sharing your experience and advice!

As the end of the summer drew near, we started to feel a great sadness as our long-term member and Senior Volunteer George (who you may know as Young Citizen of the Year 2023) is leaving us to begin a new adventure at university in Leeds. We sent him off with everything he could possibly need to continue making his infamous brownies! Although the sessions won’t be the same without George, we have 2 girls raring to fill his boots. We’ll miss you!

We now look forward to the next term – we’ve started with lots of crafts, making autumn shadow boxes and Halloween decorations. This is always the best time of year for crafting, as we get closer to Christmas and Sedgefield Snow Party. We’ll be serving more of our baked goods from the Parish Hall kitchen alongside Santa’s Grotto, so we hope to see you there!
