The Town Council has purchased, on behalf of the Parish’s residents, a black walnut tree to commemorate HM Queen Elizabeth II. The tree has been planted at the old Beacon Lane cemetery site using compost generated from the floral tributes placed at the War Memorial by residents. This site was chosen to ensure it has every chance of growing into a veteran tree which can be enjoyed for many generations to come. Work is now underway to fit a suitable commemorative plaque near to this tree.
