Further to the public meeting held on Friday 19th January 2018 regarding The Sedgefield Plan, we can now report that the votes were counted and witnessed by Town Council staff and Councillors on Wednesday 24th January 2018. The 72 people who registered their attendance at the meeting were given individual voting slips in which they were asked the following question:
Should Sedgefield Town Council continue with the process of taking The Sedgefield Plan (as submitted to Durham County Council in February 2017) forward to referendum for formal adoption?
The results obtained are as follows:
70 voted YES
2 voted NO
The matter of progressing The Sedgefield Plan in accordance with community wishes will be discussed at the Council’s next Monthly meeting on Monday 12th February 2018.
